How to train your dragons first movie has to be one of my favorites in this franchise. I belive that my rating is super valid, in my rating list.
to summarize this shortly, the first movie takes place on an archepelgo. Our main protaganist, Hiccup shoots down a night fury withen the first few minutes of the film.
Hiccup tries his best to bond with the night furry, after feeling guilty for shooting it down and not being able to kill the dragon. He ends up naming him toothless, and he even makes toothless a prosthetic tail.
He ends up running away a lot, wanting to understand toothless and study him. After awhile one of the side characters named Astrid, notices how often hiccup seems to dissappear.

Hiccup is our main Character of the franchise, A petite scrauny boy who shoots down a night furry, who is later named "Toothless".
He is seen being walked all over by the side characters. No one really takes him all too serious.
Toothless is the Night furry that gets shot down by our main character. He is a sassy and playful dragon. He is significant to the series.
Toothless begins to enjoy Hiccups precense, soon forming a deep bond with hiccup.
The other characters in the first film tend to brush hiccup off, making him feel outcasted from the rest of the vikings in the village. Towards the end of the film this begins to change.
